York Rescue Boat is an independent search and rescue York charity, founded in 2014 after a series of deaths in the city’s rivers. We have a highly trained crew and to support this we have our own qualified trainers within our team to ensure everyone has the correct training. We also have a fundraising team which is built up of a range of teams from our corporate team, face to face fundraisers to our casual volunteers who help us out where they can.
Being part of York Rescue Boat means you will be joining a caring and professional team that has a range of roles to suit everyone. Our crew have said in the past that they feel part of a family who looks after, supports each other and have made lifelong friends. Being part of this team will give you opportunities to learn new skills and try new experiences while supporting the community in York and further afield. Many of our crew now hold national qualifications as part of the team and we are invested in upskilling people in other non-operational roles too.
