Due to continued growth and high demand for its services, the company is now seeking to recruit a suitable candidate to join the Engineering Team within our busy Service department.
Job Description
Reporting to the Regional Field Service Manager, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of automatic door types (including sliding, swing, and folding doorsets). Your duties will include diagnosing faults, performing routine maintenance and safety inspections, and ensuring all repairs are completed to the highest standards within your designated geographical area.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintenance and repair: Performing routine maintenance and repairs on automatic doors to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
• Customer interaction: Communicating with customers to understand their needs and providing excellent customer service.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues with automatic door systems.
• Documentation: Keeping accurate records of work performed, including EN16005 safety certificates and service reports.
• Compliance: Ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations, including EN16005.
• Training and development: Participating in ongoing training to stay updated with the latest technologies and safety practices.
Essential Criteria
• Technical proficiency: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to automatic doors.
• Problem solving: Ability to fault find and resolve issues efficiently.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service: Strong focus on providing high quality service to our customers.
• Attention to detail: Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with EN16005 safety regulations.
• Driving Licence: Full clean driving licence required.
Work Environment
• Field based: Working at various customer locations, which may include commercial, industrial, and residential sites.
• Team collaboration: Working closely with other engineers, planning coordinators, and the field service manager to ensure smooth operations.
Qualification Timeline
• Duration: The apprenticeship/trainee program typically lasts between 18-24 months.
• Training: During this period, you will receive comprehensive training in maintenance, repair, fault finding, and compliance with standards like EN16005.
• Assessment: Regular internal assessments will be conducted to ensure you are meeting the required competencies.
• Certification: Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship/trainee program, you will earn a level 2 NVQ, qualifying you to work as an automatic door engineer.
