Our Offshore Service Technician Apprenticeship Programme offers an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn, gain hands-on experience, and develop technical expertise in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries. Job Overview: As an Offshore Service Technician Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing offshore wind turbines across the UK. You will receive extensive training, combining academic study, practical offshore experience, and industry-recognized qualifications to prepare you for a future career in offshore wind. This three-year apprenticeship will provide you with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience to work safely and efficiently in an offshore environment, helping to ensure our wind turbines operate at peak performance. Key Responsibilities: Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, and repairs on offshore wind turbines. Develop mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills. Work at height and offshore, handling complex equipment and ensuring all tasks are completed safely. Learn how to troubleshoot turbine components and determine the best course of action for repairs or replacements. Prepare and plan tasks by ensuring the right tools, materials, and safety equipment are available. Follow strict safety procedures and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment. Work as part of a high-performing team to deliver operational excellence on offshore wind farms. Qualifications Required: Scottish Highers in Mathematics and/or Physics (or equivalent A-levels or international qualifications). Must live within a 50-mile radius of Montrose. Comfortable working at heights, offshore, and in challenging weather conditions. Physically fit, with a willingness to travel and work flexible schedules. Key Competencies & Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Ability to adapt and remain resilient in a dynamic offshore environment. A strong interest in engineering, technology, and renewable energy. Commitment to health, safety, and sustainability. What We Offer: A fully funded three-year apprenticeship with a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience. Qualifications gained: Year 1: HNC Electrical Engineering & Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (Aberdeen Altens Campus). Years 2 & 3: EAL Diploma in Engineering at SCQF Level 7 (Pathway A: Engineering Asset Lifecycle and Maintenance) with offshore training across UK wind farms.
